About the Event

Dr. D.Y. Patil Law College is proud to present its 1st International Model United Nations (DYPLC IMUN), scheduled for March 11-12, 2025. This prestigious two-day event invites students to participate in dynamic debates and negotiations centered around the theme: “Rethinking Sovereignty in a Globalised World: The Intersection of National Interests and Global Responsibilities.”

DYPLC IMUN offers meticulously curated committees with compelling agendas that tackle pressing global and national challenges. Delegates will have the opportunity to engage in diplomatic discourse, develop policy solutions, and refine their negotiation skills in a stimulating environment.

DYPLC IMUN features six dynamic committees with engaging agendas:

• United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) – Investigating Alleged Human Rights Violations and Crimes Against Humanity in the Israel-Palestine Conflict: Upholding International Humanitarian Law.
• United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) – Strengthening Child Protection Systems to Combat Exploitation, Violence, and Abuse in Conflict Zones.
• United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) – Fostering Global Cooperation for Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Research.
• United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and Empowerment of Women (UN-WOMEN) – Breaking Barriers: Enhancing Women’s Representation in Political and Electoral Systems.
• United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – Strengthening Global Commitment to the Paris Agreement: Enhancing Nationally Determined Contributions.
• World Health Organization (WHO) – Proactive Preparedness: Institutionalized Training for Mitigating Global Crises.
