NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India) is the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India, dedicated to catalyzing sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Chaired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, with senior ministers serving as ex-officio members, the institution leads key development strategies and promotes cooperative federalism across states.

About the Event

NITI Aayog invites applications for its Internship Programme aimed at providing short-term exposure to students and researchers interested in public policy and governance. Interns will work directly with NITI’s various verticals, divisions, and units, contributing to policy inputs through empirical research, reports, and papers.

This is a valuable opportunity for those keen to understand policy formulation at the highest level of government and actively contribute to India’s development narrative.

Format/Structure

• Eligibility:
  • UG students (after 2nd year) with ≥85% in 12th
  • PG/PhD students (after 1st year/semester) with ≥70% in graduation
  • Recent graduates (within 6 months of result) may also apply
• Tasks:
  • Research & policy drafting
  • Analysis of government schemes
  • Creating policy briefs, papers, and empirical reports

(Physical internship – no remote option)

Additional Details

• Selection is merit-based and subject to seat availability.
• No stipend or financial support is provided.
• Interns completing the minimum required tenure will receive a certificate of completion.
