High Court of Judicature at Allahabad – Internship Program for Law Students

The High Court of Judicature at Allahabad offers a unique opportunity for law students to intern at its Prayagraj and Lucknow benches. The internship provides hands-on experience within the judiciary under the guidance of esteemed judges. Although non-remunerative, it allows students to develop their legal research skills, gain courtroom experience, and deepen their understanding of judicial proceedings.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be enrolled in a 5-year law degree recognized by the Bar Council of India and be in their 4th or 5th year.
  • Alternatively, students in the 2nd or 3rd year of a 3-year law program are also eligible.
  • Students awaiting results after completing their 6th semester (5-year law course) or 1st year (3-year law course) may apply, provided they have a satisfactory academic record.
  • Candidates should possess good computer skills, be proficient in legal research, and have completed at least two previous internships (of not less than 30 days each).

How to Apply:

  • Applications can be submitted online through the provided link on the High Court’s website.
  • Students must upload their marksheets, a forwarding letter from their college/university, previous internship certificates, and a student ID card.

Upon successful submission, applicants will receive a unique Application ID for all future correspondence. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed via Video Conferencing, and the final start date will be communicated in advance.

Internship Conditions/Guidelines:

  • The internship period lasts for a minimum of four weeks and may be extended up to six weeks based on performance.
  • Interns are expected to maintain confidentiality, adhere to the formal dress code, and abide by court timings.
  • Interns must make their own arrangements for accommodation, food, and travel, as the program is non-remunerative.
