About NITI Aayog
NITI Aayog, the apex public policy think tank of the Government of India, plays a pivotal role in catalyzing economic development and fostering cooperative federalism. With the Prime Minister serving as the Chairperson, the current Vice Chairperson is Suman Bery. The organization includes prominent Ex-Officio Members such as Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitaraman, and Narendra Singh Tomar.
Internship Overview
The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme offers undergraduate/postgraduate students and research scholars from recognized universities/institutions in India and abroad a unique opportunity to gain exposure to government functioning and developmental policy issues. Interns will work closely with various verticals, divisions, and cells within NITI Aayog.
Purpose:
To provide short-term exposure to selected candidates with the different Verticals/Divisions/Units of NITI Aayog as interns.
Objective:
To engage young academic talent in the work of NITI Aayog for mutual benefit. Interns will contribute to policy formulation by generating policy inputs, including empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.
Eligibility Criteria
- Undergraduate Students:
- Completed/appeared in the term-end exams of the second year/4th semester of the bachelor’s degree course.
- Secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in the 12th class.
- Graduate Students:
- Completed/appeared in the term-end exams of the first year/2nd semester of the postgraduate program.
- Secured not less than 70% or equivalent marks in Graduation.
- Recent Graduates:
- Those who have appeared in the final exam or have recently completed Graduation/PG and are waiting for admission to higher studies, provided they have secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all years/semesters.
Note: The period between the declaration of the final exam result and the desired internship month should not exceed six months.
