About the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD)

The Ministry of Women and Child Development, based in New Delhi, is committed to the welfare, development, and empowerment of women and children across India. Its key initiatives include implementing various policies, welfare programs, and services aimed at promoting gender equality, safeguarding children’s rights, and advancing social justice.

About the Internship Programme

The MWCD internship is aimed at women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from rural and non-Tier I areas. This two-month internship provides a unique opportunity to work closely with Ministry officials on various pilot projects, micro-studies, and policy analysis initiatives. Interns will gain hands-on experience with the Ministry’s ongoing activities, helping them understand its mission and operations in-depth.

The programme encourages a proactive approach, inspiring interns to raise and address issues concerning women and children on public platforms after the internship concludes.
