About NITI Aayog

The Government of India's premier think tank for public policy, NITI Aayog is the main organization responsible for promoting cooperative federalism and spurring economic development. NITI Aayog is now led by the Prime Minister, with Suman Bery serving as vice chair. Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitaraman, and Narendra Singh Tomar are the ex-officio members.

Regarding the NITI Aayog Internship

The NITI Aayog Internship Scheme is open to research researchers and undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in accredited universities and institutions in India and outside. They will collaborate closely with NITI's cells, divisions, and verticals. Candidates must submit their applications online by completing the registration form.

Objective

To permit "chosen candidates" to have brief experience as interns with various NITI Aayog, Government of India Verticals, Divisions, and Units.

Goal

To permit young academic talent to collaborate with NITI Aayog on projects that will benefit both parties. The interns will have the chance to learn about the issues surrounding development policy and how the government of India operates. They will also be able to contribute to the creation of policy by creating policy inputs including policy papers, briefing reports, empirical analysis, etc.

Mode of internship

On-site.

Eligibility criteria

Bonafide students of any recognized University/ Institution within India or abroad, fulfilling the following conditions are eligible to apply for the internship:

  • Undergraduate students, having completed/appeared in the term end exams of second year I 4th, semester of the bachelor degree course and secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in 12th class.

  • Graduate students having completed/ appeared in the term-end exams of the first year/2nd semester of their postgraduate program or pursuing research/PhD and secured not less than 70% or equivalent marks in Graduation.

  • The students who have appeared in the final exam or just completed Graduation/PG and waiting for admission to higher studies may also be considered for internship provided that they have secured 7 Ooh or more cumulative marks in all the years/ semesters of their graduation/ post-graduation till the date of application.

  • The period between the month of declaration of the result of the final exam and the desired month of the internship should not exceed six months e.g. if the result is declared in June then he/she can apply for the internship beginning in December.

Duration

The period of the Internship shall be at least six weeks but not exceeding six months. Interns not completing the requisite period will not be issued any certificate.
