About the Event

The LCIA Casework Internship Programme is designed to offer graduates a hands-on and immersive experience in international arbitration. It provides selected interns with a structured opportunity to understand the casework process, interact with experienced Counsel, and contribute meaningfully to the administration of arbitration and ADR matters.

This internship is ideal for law graduates interested in international dispute resolution and looking to gain direct exposure to real-world arbitration proceedings. Interns will work full-time from the LCIA’s headquarters in London, with active mentorship and professional guidance.

Format and Structure

The internship supports two candidates per intake and runs for a continuous six-month period. Selected interns will:

• Work closely with and report to Counsel in the casework team.
• Assist in the administration of arbitration and ADR cases.
• Be assigned a mentor for onboarding and continuous guidance.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Drafting the first letter to the parties upon receipt of the Request for Arbitration.
• Preparing case summaries and procedural histories.
• Drafting forms of appointment and notices for arbitrators and tribunal secretaries.
• Reviewing draft awards for typographical and procedural consistency.
• Supporting Counsel with administrative tasks and correspondence.
