About the Opportunity

Matter Entertainment is inviting applications for the position of Legal Associate to join its in-house legal team in Mumbai. This role is tailored for lawyers with 1–2 years of experience, especially those passionate about the entertainment industry and possessing strong knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and media law.

The ideal candidate will work on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements related to talent engagements, brand endorsements, licensing, distribution, and IP-related matters.

Format/Structure

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to talent, production, licensing, and brand deals.
• Manage IPR matters, including copyrights and trademarks.
• Coordinate with production teams, talent, and external counsel.
• Monitor legal risks and regulatory compliance across media and entertainment projects.
• Conduct due diligence and legal research as needed.

Eligibility:

• LL.B. degree (Bar enrolment preferred).
• 1–2 years of relevant legal experience.
• Strong expertise in IPR, entertainment law, and commercial contracts.
• Proficient in drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of both domestic and international legal frameworks related to media and entertainment.
