As a Legal Helpline Paralegal, you’ll play a crucial role in providing general legal support across a wide range of UK jurisdiction commercial and personal legal matters via the telephone.

About the Role

As a Legal Helpline Paralegal, you will be part of a dynamic team that provides general and preliminary legal support to clients via the telephone. You will offer expert legal advice while ensuring that your guidance remains general and adheres to regulatory standards. This role is vital in ensuring our clients receive exceptional service without incurring reputational or financial risks to the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide general legal support for UK jurisdiction commercial and personal legal matters.
• Ensure all advice is preliminary and stays within the legal advice guidelines, adhering to regulatory standards.
• Conduct legal research to stay updated on UK law changes and provide accurate legal information.
• Champion specific legal areas, serving as an ambassador for the Legal Helpline within the legal department.
• Identify cases that require specific legal support and recommend professional services where necessary.
• Assess legal claims against Legal Expenses terms and conditions, ensuring that clear exceptions are communicated to policyholders.
• Handle calls with empathy and professionalism, especially for vulnerable clients.
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver consistent high-quality service.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic and client-focused Legal Helpline Paralegal who possesses excellent communication skills and can handle complex legal queries while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.

Skills and Experience:

• Law Degree: UK Law Degree (2:1 or above), LLB or equivalent.
• Client Care Experience: Prior experience in customer or client service roles is highly desirable.
• Fluent in English: Both oral and written communication must be of an excellent standard.
• Computer Competence: Ability to handle general office software and manage legal research tools.
• Empathy and Understanding: Ability to manage sensitive and vulnerable clients.
• Time Management: Strong ability to work under deadlines, especially within call-handling parameters.
• Call Handling Experience: Experience in call-handling is preferred but not mandatory.
