This role offers legal professionals an exciting opportunity to work on end-to-end legal aspects of energy projects including contract negotiation, EPC deals, power purchase agreements, land acquisition, and regulatory compliance.

Format and Structure

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Chennai, with occasional travel based on project needs.

As Legal Counsel, your key responsibilities will include:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including:
• EPC and O\&M agreements
• Vendor/supplier contracts
• Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
• Land acquisition and lease documentation
• MoUs, NDAs, and regulatory filings
• Supporting regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and licensing matters
• Collaborating with internal teams including procurement, project execution, land, and finance
• Assisting in project due diligence, mergers, acquisitions, and energy deals
• Providing legal inputs on project structuring, bid documentation, and government RFPs
• Keeping abreast of legal developments in the energy, infrastructure, and environmental sectors
• Supporting litigation, arbitration, or dispute resolution processes, if necessary

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university
• Enrollment with the Bar Council of India
• Master’s Degree (LL.M.) in Corporate or Commercial Law is an added advantage
• 2–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a law firm or in-house legal team
• Prior exposure to the energy, infrastructure, or manufacturing sector is desirable

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in contract law and regulatory frameworks
• Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and business advisory capabilities
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and strategic thinking

Remuneration:
As per industry standards (to be discussed during the interview)
