About the Organisation

The Department of Legal Affairs (DOLA), under the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, aims to provide extensive legal training to young law students and graduates. This program is designed to familiarize interns with DOLA’s functions, including research, court procedures, and legal advisory work. Key fields covered are infrastructure law, arbitration, labour law, and contract law. Interns are deployed in New Delhi or Branch Secretariats in Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.

Eligibility

• For Students: Passed the 2nd year of a 3-year LLB or 3rd year of a 5-year LLB program.
• For Graduates: Completed a law degree from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in MS Office, infographics, or Adobe is preferred.

Internship Structure

• Deployment Locations: Main Secretariat, New Delhi, and Branch Secretariats (Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru).
• Daily Timings: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
• Tasks: Research work, document referencing, drafting legal advice, and attending court sessions.
• Reports: Interns must submit a comprehensive monthly report detailing their research assignments.
