The Legal Research Internship at Karan Gupta Law Chambers offers law students a first-hand experience of dispute resolution practice in Bangalore. This is not a passive internship — interns are expected to be deeply engaged in research, drafting, and preparing notes for ongoing matters.
Interns will gain exposure to:
- Legal Research: Conducting case law analysis and statutory research for litigation matters.

Format and Structure
- Duration: 4 weeks (per slot)
- Working Hours: Full-time, as per office schedule and case requirements
- Supervisor/Mentor: Interns will work under the direct guidance of Advocate Karan Gupta and senior associates in the disputes practice
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants for the Legal Research Internship must fulfill the following criteria:
- Must be enrolled in a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated law course at a recognized university.
- Should be in the penultimate or final year of the program.
- Prior internship experience in disputes/litigation is mandatory.
- Must demonstrate strong skills in legal research, analysis, and drafting.
- Application must include all required documents (CV, statement of interest, and case critique). Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Application Requirements:
- Updated CV (not exceeding three pages).
- Statement of Interest (max 300 words) explaining motivation to practice in disputes/litigation.
- A short critique/analysis of one of the following Supreme Court judgments:
- Gayatri Balasamy vs ISG Novasoft Technologies Ltd. OR
- M/S Neeharika Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. v. State of Maharashtra
(The note should summarize the holding briefly and present an independent critique.)
Additional Highlights
- Certificate of Completion will be provided to all interns successfully completing the program.
- Stipend:
- ₹6,000 per month for students residing in Bangalore.
- ₹6,000 + reimbursement up to ₹6,000 for accommodation for students from outside Bangalore.

This is a paid internship. Selected candidates will receive ₹6,000 per month, with an additional accommodation reimbursement of up to ₹6,000 for outstation students.
