About the Role

The company is in search of a Legal Specialist with 6-7 years of experience in the legal field, preferably within the Plastic Recycling Industry. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating with various business heads to draft and vet business contracts, handle legal documentation, and ensure compliance with both litigation and non-litigation matters. A strong understanding of EPR rules and regulations is essential for this role, as is experience in managing responses to government notices. Additionally, the role requires finalizing standard formats for agreements and ensuring the legal documents meet industry and organizational standards.

This is an on-site role based in Malad, Mumbai, and the candidate must either be residing in Malad or willing to relocate before starting work. As this position involves direct collaboration with the business development teams, it is ideal for a legal professional who excels in multitasking and has a strong grasp of both litigation and compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting and Reviewing Contracts: The Legal Specialist will be required to collaborate with Business Development Managers (BDMs) and other business heads to draft business contracts tailored to the organization’s specific needs.
• Vetting Legal Documents: All legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings, must be thoroughly vetted to ensure compliance with both industry regulations and organizational requirements.
• Managing EPR Compliance: A critical component of this role is ensuring compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) rules, both in litigation and non-litigation contexts. The candidate must possess a comprehensive understanding of these regulations and be capable of drafting legal responses accordingly.
• Handling Government Notices: The Legal Specialist will manage responses to government notices, ensuring timely and accurate replies that safeguard the company’s interests.
• Legal Documentation and Standardization: The candidate will be responsible for maintaining all legal documents efficiently, finalizing standard formats for agreements, and ensuring legal processes are streamlined and followed consistently.
• Litigation and Non-Litigation Expertise: As part of managing legal affairs, the candidate will need to oversee both litigation and non-litigation matters within the industry, ensuring the company is protected from any legal disputes or challenges.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 6-7 years of legal experience is required for this role, preferably in the Plastic Recycling Industry or a closely related field.
• Industry Knowledge: Expertise in EPR regulations and rules is a must, particularly in managing both litigation and compliance matters.
• Legal Documentation Skills: Strong abilities in legal document preparation and contractual agreements are essential.
• Shorthand Proficiency: The candidate must possess proficiency in shorthand, which is mandatory for this position.
• Location Requirement: The candidate must either be based in Malad, Mumbai, or be willing to relocate before starting the job.
• Relocation Assistance: The organization expects the selected candidate to relocate to Malad if not already based there.
