About the Opportunity

Varahe Analytics is currently seeking a highly motivated and analytical Legislative Research Associate to join its team in Delhi. This is a 6-month Short-Term Contractual (STC) role, with the possibility of conversion to a Full-Time Contractual (FTC) position, contingent on the performance of the selected candidate. The Legislative Research Associate will play a crucial role in supporting policymakers and legislators through comprehensive research and analysis of legislative and parliamentary proceedings. Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be involved in a wide range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the legislative process. These include, but are not limited to:

• Research and Analysis: Conducting in-depth research on parliamentary proceedings, committee reports, policy decisions at both the central and state levels, and tracking significant legislative developments.
• Policy Briefs and Reports: Preparing detailed policy briefs, reports, and analytical insights on key legislative matters, offering stakeholders valuable data-driven perspectives.
• Judicial and Legislative Tracking: Monitoring and interpreting judicial rulings, legislative amendments, and parliamentary debates that affect public policy and governance.
• Support to Legislators and Policymakers: Assisting in the formulation of strategies for stakeholders by providing high-quality research that supports data-driven decision-making.
• Stakeholder Engagements: Contributing to meetings, policy discussions, and legislative engagements, ensuring that the research outcomes are clearly communicated to relevant stakeholders.

• Experience: 0-2 years of experience in legislative research, policy analysis, or related domains.
• Educational Background: Candidates should have a background in Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Governance, or related fields.
• Skills: Strong research, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role. The ability to synthesize complex information and present it clearly is key to success.
• Work Environment Compatibility: The role demands an individual who is adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, policy-driven environment. The candidate should be comfortable working under tight deadlines and handling multiple research tasks simultaneously.
• Laptop Requirement: Candidates must bring their own laptops to the office for the role.
• Deputation Flexibility: Candidates should be open to deputation based on project requirements, which may involve temporary relocation or travel for specific research tasks.
