About NLU Odisha
National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a premier legal institution situated in Cuttack, Odisha, established by the Odisha State Legislature under Act IV of 2008. The university is known for its academic excellence, research-driven approach, and strong emphasis on interdisciplinary legal studies.
About the Event
LexTech – Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation at NLUO, in collaboration with Kautilya Society and Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, presents Lexathon 2025 – a policy drafting competition designed to encourage critical thinking and innovative policy-making. This competition aims to equip students with the skills required for legislative drafting, legal policy analysis, and effective governance strategies.
The theme for this edition is “Child’s Consent and Safety in the Digital Space.” Participants will draft a policy framework addressing child safety and consent in the digital environment while ensuring compliance with fundamental rights, international best practices, and national regulatory frameworks.

Format & Structure
- Eligibility: Open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and professionals from law, public policy, economics, and allied disciplines.
- Team Composition: Teams of two (cross-institutional teams allowed).
- Rounds:
- Policy Draft Submission Round – Participants submit a structured policy draft (max. 3000 words).
- Final Presentation Round – Shortlisted teams present their policies to an expert panel.

The competition will be held in-person at NLU Odisha, Cuttack.
