About the Job/Internship
This internship offers budding legal professionals an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate legal strategy, compliance management, and litigation support at one of the world’s leading QSR chains. The internship is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of McDonald’s India’s legal operations, from real estate legal procedures for new restaurant openings to risk management in compliance and adversarial matters.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal policies to ensure compliance with national and local laws.
- Help in managing litigation matters, including coordinating with external legal counsels and drafting responses to legal notices.
- Participate in real estate legal documentation processes, focusing on new restaurant site signings and ongoing lease negotiations.
- Support the team in developing strategies to prevent and manage legal disputes.
- Prepare reports on the status of ongoing litigation, compliance audits, and legal expenditure.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or currently pursuing.
- Strong legal research skills and an analytical mindset.
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic understanding of corporate, real estate, and compliance laws.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Skills (Additional Qualifications)
- Prior internship experience in corporate law or real estate legal work.
- Familiarity with contract drafting, litigation processes, and dispute resolution.
- Exposure to corporate compliance frameworks will be an added advantage.
