About the Internship
The NABARD Student Internship Scheme (SIS) 2025-26 is designed to provide students with practical exposure to real-world challenges in agriculture, rural finance, and allied sectors. The program aims to gather insights from talented students pursuing postgraduate degrees and integrated courses, helping NABARD improve its initiatives with fresh perspectives.

Format/Structure
- Internship Duration: Minimum of 8 weeks and a maximum of 12 weeks.
- Stipend: Rs. 18,000 per month.
- Total Seats: 39 (34 seats in Regional Offices/TEs, 5 at Head Office, Mumbai).
- Selection Process: Weighted score system (based on 10th, 12th, and Graduation marks) followed by an interview.
- Themes for Research:
- NWRS Financing to Farmers – Issues and Utilization
- NBFCs Financing in Rural Areas – Coverage and Issues
- Tenant Farmers – Nature of Tenancy, Challenges & Bottlenecks
- Development of Value Chain in Fruit Clusters – Existing & Potential Interventions
Location
- Regional Offices & Head Office (Mumbai): Selected students will be placed across NABARD’s offices in India.
- Online Format: Interns may have the flexibility of working online based on project requirements.
Additional Details
- Eligibility:
- Students pursuing postgraduate degrees (having completed the first year) in Agriculture and allied disciplines, Agri-business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Management.
- Students pursuing 5-year integrated courses must have completed their fourth year.
- Indian students studying abroad are also eligible.
- Students must either belong to the state they apply for or be pursuing their degree from that state. (Head Office seats in Mumbai are open to applicants nationwide.)
