About the Event
The Research Endeavour Grant (N-REG) 2025–2026 is an annual research funding programme instituted by NLU Delhi to support innovative, high-quality research that engages with law, legal institutions, legal cultures, or legal policy. The grant seeks to promote both doctrinal and empirical work, including interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies. Research using STEM methodologies with a core legal focus is also welcome.
Each year, two researchers will be awarded grants of ₹5,00,000 each for standalone research projects to be completed within 12 months.

Format and Structure
The application process is fully online. All applications will undergo a rigorous selection procedure including blind review of documents and a virtual interaction with the Research Grants Selection Committee. Selected proposals will be continuously monitored for progress through bimonthly reports and milestone tracking.

Eligibility
- Must be an Indian citizen currently working in an Indian higher education institution
- Must hold a Master’s degree
- Minimum three years of experience in research or academia (including international experience)
- Proposal must be a standalone project, not part of a larger grant
- Must have an institutional bank account (funds cannot be received in a personal account)
- Researchers currently employed abroad are not eligible

Q1: Who is eligible to apply?
A: Indian citizens with a Master’s degree, at least three years of academic/research experience, and employment at an Indian higher education institution.

A: No. The applicant must be based and employed in India.
