About the Competition:

The Ninth Edition of the Symbiosis Law School, Pune – International Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition, 2024 [SICTA-2024] is scheduled from April 18–21, 2024. It simulates the Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court, focusing on the theme "Prosecution against forced displacement of civilians as an international crime under the ambit of the Rome Statute."

– Eligibility: Open to students actively enrolled in Bachelor (5 Year Course and 3 Year Course) and Master’s Programme of Law. Exchange students may participate on behalf of their host university.

– Team Size/Composition: Each team consists of 2 speakers & 1 researcher or only 2 speakers. Teams represent Prosecution, Defense, and Victim(s) in preliminary rounds.

– Location: Physical competition at SLS, Pune for national teams; international teams compete online.

Important Dates:

– Provisional Registration Deadline: February 18, 2024

– Final Registration Deadline: February 22, 2024

– Orientation Programme: April 18, 2024

– Oral Rounds of the Competition: April 18-21, 2024

Registration Fee: Rs. 18,000/- + 18% GST per team (not more than 3 members).

Registration Procedure:

– The competition is invite-only and limited to 27 teams.

– Provisional registration through a Google form.

– Final registration by February 22, 2024.
