The University is hiring a Consulting Editor – Research to bolster research efforts across law and social sciences. This is a full-time role based in Bengaluru.

Role Description in NLSIU

• Provide editorial feedback on reports, articles, and papers from university centers and faculty projects.
• Collaborate with faculty on research articles and book proposals.
• Standardize and enhance publishing processes.
• Build partnerships to improve the visibility of NLS publications.
• Design and deliver workshops to improve writing skills for students and staff.
• Advise on new publishing opportunities and trends.

The Consulting Editor will report to the Dean Research and work closely with the Senior Manager, Research and Editor, Journals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, journalism, media studies, or related fields.
• 8-10 years of experience in publishing, editing, and content review.
• Proven track record in managing deadlines and handling long-form writing.
• Strong communication skills.

Desirable:

• Master’s degree in journalism, media studies, or communication.
• Managerial and mentorship experience.
• Experience with institutional editing processes.
• Strategic thinking to address conceptual challenges.
