About the University/Organization
National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, is India’s premier law institution known for its interdisciplinary research and academic excellence. In collaboration with the University of Oxford and funded by the British Academy’s Knowledge Frontiers Award, NLSIU now invites applications for the Just Transitions on Indian Streets (JusTIS) Project.
This international interdisciplinary initiative explores how Indian cities can pursue climate change responses that are inclusive of street-based workers like vendors, platform workers, and informal transport providers.
About the Event
NLSIU is hiring 2 Postdoctoral Fellows (Research Associates) for a full-time engagement under the JusTIS Project. This project seeks to investigate the experiences of informal workers in Indian cities, their vulnerabilities to climate change, and their exclusion from urban policy-making. The research emphasizes equity, dignity, and decolonial practices to better include these workers in climate and development policies.
Fieldwork will be carried out across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Kolkata, and researchers will directly contribute to data collection, archival research, literature reviews, and stakeholder engagement.
