About the Event

The NLSIU-SIAC Annual Arbitration Lecture is an initiative that brings together global arbitration experts and thought leaders to discuss evolving themes in international arbitration. The second edition of this prestigious lecture, scheduled for April 26, 2025, will feature Lucy Reed, a leading international arbitrator and scholar, speaking on:
“Five Things You Think You Know About Arbitration, But You Don’t.”

About the Speaker:
Lucy Reed, an independent arbitrator with Arbitration Chambers (New York), serves as President of the SIAC Court of Arbitration. She is the former President of ICCA and a past faculty member at NUS Law. Reed has served on significant tribunals such as the Eritrea-Ethiopia Claims Commission, the Iran-US Claims Tribunal, and the Swiss Holocaust Claims Tribunal. She is a member of the US Council on Foreign Relations and a former President of the American Society of International Law. She holds degrees from Brown University and the University of Chicago Law School.
