About the Event

The National Moot Court Competition, organized by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar NLU Sonepat in collaboration with Chadha & Co., provides a platform for law students to showcase their legal argumentation, research, and advocacy skills. The competition aims to develop participants’ ability to engage in rigorous legal analysis, presenting arguments on complex legal issues before an esteemed panel of judges. This national-level moot court competition is designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical legal challenges.

Event Dates

The competition will take place on 15th and 16th November 2024. Over two days, participants will engage in preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds.

Format and Structure

The competition will be conducted in offline mode at the DBRANLU campus in Sonepat. The event will consist of:

• Preliminary Rounds: All participating teams will argue twice, once as the Petitioner/Plaintiff and once as the Respondent/Defendant.
• Advanced Rounds: Teams qualifying through the memorial round will proceed to the Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds.
• Team Composition: Each team will consist of 2 speakers and 1 researcher.

The competition will be held at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, located in the Rajiv Gandhi Education City, Rai, Sonepat, Haryana. The campus offers a conducive environment for academic competitions and provides accommodation for participants.

Prize Pool

• Winner: ₹60,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
• Runners-Up: ₹50,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
• Best Memorial: ₹15,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
• Best Student Advocate: ₹10,000 + Trophy + Certificate of Merit
• Additional prizes for Third and Fourth Best Teams, along with certificates of participation.

• Last Date for Final Registration: 28th September 2024
• Last Date for Memorial Submission: 18th October 2024
• Preliminary Rounds: 15th November 2024
• Final Rounds and Valedictory Ceremony: 16th November 2024
