Law Centre-II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, is one of India’s premier legal education institutions, known for its rigorous curriculum and a legacy of producing legal luminaries. The Moot Court Society of Law Centre-II is a student-led initiative dedicated to fostering advocacy skills through meticulously organized mooting opportunities. The S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition is one of its flagship events, encouraging legal reasoning and cross-border legal discourse.


About the Event

The 9th S.K. Puri Memorial International Moot Court Competition (Justified ’25) is an annual event hosted by Law Centre-II, aimed at providing a global platform for budding legal minds to demonstrate their advocacy, research, and analytical abilities.

This international competition invites participation from law schools across India and abroad, enabling students to engage with complex legal issues, simulate real court proceedings, and develop legal arguments before an esteemed panel of judges.

Format and Structure

The competition will follow a multi-stage structure:

- Advertisement -
  • Provisional Registration Phase: Interested institutions register their teams using the official link.
  • Memorial Round: After confirmation, teams will be required to submit memorials for both sides.
  • Oral Rounds: Shortlisted teams will argue before a panel of judges including academics, practitioners, and retired judges.

The event will comprise Preliminary, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final rounds. Judging will be based on criteria including legal reasoning, articulation, memorial quality, and courtroom etiquette.

Q1: Who is eligible to participate?
A: Law students currently enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs are eligible.

Q2: Is a recommendation/reference required?
A: No. Recommendation letters are not required at the registration stage.

A: Yes. All participating teams will receive e-certificates. Physical certificates will be awarded to teams appearing in oral rounds.

A: Yes. The competition is open to international law schools and foreign participants are encouraged to register.
