About Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU):
The Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), established by the Government of Tamil Nadu through Act No. 9 of 2012, is a premier institution offering globally competitive legal education on its 25-acre campus in Tiruchirappalli. TNNLU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities and the Shastri Institute. About the Centre for Investment Laws (CIL):
The Centre for Investment Laws (CIL) at TNNLU was established in 2021 to address the growing demand for expertise in investment laws, particularly in Tamil Nadu. With a ₹10 lakh grant from the Tamil Nadu Government, the CIL conducts research on legal issues related to Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs), Special Economic Zones (SEZs), and strategic thinking in investment laws. The Centre also organizes academic events such as conferences and aims to assist policymakers in developing a legal innovation ecosystem. CIL aspires to become a regional research hub and thought leader on investment-related laws in India.
Conference Overview:
The CIL is organizing a One-Day National Conference on Law and Policy on Investments in India: Issues and Challenges on 05 October 2024. This conference will serve as a platform for academicians, professionals, and students to present and discuss their research on various aspects of investment laws. The themes for the conference include, but are not limited to, the legal and regulatory frameworks governing investments in India, FDI challenges, dispute resolution mechanisms, and the impact of intellectual property on investment flows.

Participants are encouraged to submit full papers on any topic relevant to the conference themes, including:

- Intellectual Property and Investment Laws
Rules for Submission:
- Abstract Submission: 250-300 words with five keywords.
- Full Paper Submission: 4500-6000 words, including abstract, keywords, and footnotes.
- Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition.
- Formatting Requirements:
- Title: 16 pts, Centre Aligned
- Subheading: 14 pts, Left Aligned
- Body Text: Garamond, 12 pts
- Footnotes: Garamond, 10 pts
- Spacing: Body – 1.15 pts, Footnotes – 1 pt
- Paper Size: A4, Portrait, with 2.54″ margins on all sides.

- Academicians: ₹1,500 / ₹2,000
- Scholars: ₹1,000 / ₹1,500
- Students: ₹500 / ₹1,000
- Participants: ₹300 / ₹500

Submission Process:
- Submissions are to be made in .docx format, with a maximum of two authors allowed per paper. The full paper should be uploaded via a Google Form circulated via email after abstract selection is communicated from “CIL@TNNLU.AC.IN.”
Publication Opportunity:
Selected papers with a similarity index of less than 10% after Turnitin review will be published in an ISBN-indexed book.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is available on a first-come, first-serve basis at ₹1,000 per day, to be paid at the venue.
