About the Event
Titled “A Year of Legal Transition: Mapping the Realities of New Criminal Codes”, this virtual seminar critically explores the on-ground impact of India’s three new criminal statutes—Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA)—enacted on 1 July 2024. These laws replaced the colonial-era IPC, CrPC, and Indian Evidence Act.
The seminar will focus on their real-world application, procedural transformations, and emerging jurisprudence over the past year. Through expert-led sessions and Q&A discussions, the event aims to foster critical evaluation and dialogue around these landmark reforms.
