About the Internship

The MP-IDSA Internship Programme is a highly competitive, hands-on opportunity for young graduates and postgraduates with a keen interest in defence, security, and policy research.

Key Highlights of the Internship:

• Duration: Minimum 6 months, extendable to 12 months by mutual agreement.
• Objective: To provide interns with exposure to high-quality research in defence and security policy.
• Focus: Interns will be associated with one of MP-IDSA’s Centres, working closely with senior researchers.

The programme offers an immersive experience in strategic studies, enabling interns to contribute meaningfully to ongoing projects while enhancing their analytical and research skills.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification:
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (final-year Master’s students may also apply).
  • Deserving candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may be considered for a shorter internship (up to two months).
• Age Limit: Not more than 30 years as on 1 January 2025.
• Selection Criteria: Based on merit and relevance to MP-IDSA’s research work.

Duration

• Minimum: 6 months.
• Extension: Up to 1 year, based on performance and mutual agreement.

Facilities Provided

• Amenities: Office space, internet connectivity, and other essential facilities.
• Stipend:
  • First 2 months: Unpaid.
  • After 2 months: ₹10,000 per month honorarium (Indian nationals only), subject to performance and retention.
