About the Summer Research Fellowship (EU)
The Summer Research Fellowship (EU) is a paid 8–12-week program designed for law students, professionals, and academics to explore the forefront of AI, EU law, and policy, including the EU AI Act. The program combines mentorship, research opportunities, and networking with policymakers and field experts. It features a fully-funded in-person week in Brussels, Belgium, or Cambridge, UK.
Fellows will work closely with mentors to tailor research projects to their skills and interests, focusing on legal and policy questions aligned with LawAI’s mission to ensure AI’s responsible and beneficial development.

Format/Structure
- Mode: Remote-first with one fully-funded in-person week.

- Research Focus: Projects tailored to Fellows’ interests, including EU AI law and policy, culminating in outputs like policy briefs, law review articles, or advisory support for policymakers.
- Participation: Regular team meetings, research presentations, and peer feedback.
Location
The fellowship is primarily remote, with a fully-funded in-person week held in Brussels, Belgium, or Cambridge, UK.
