About Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU)

Established in 1997 by the State of Tamil Nadu, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University (TNDALU) is India’s first full-fledged sui generis Law University. With its School of Excellence in Law located in Chennai and various affiliated colleges throughout the state, TNDALU is known for its comprehensive legal education. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate programs, including 3-year and 5-year law degrees, as well as postgraduate courses in thirteen specialized branches of law. TNDALU also hosts a prestigious Doctoral Programme, furthering its commitment to global legal research.

About the Event

The Pro Bono Enviro National Moot Court Competition is an initiative by the School of Excellence in Law at TNDALU, focused on raising awareness and fostering understanding of environmental law. This competition challenges students to engage with complex legal issues related to environmental concerns, judged by esteemed members of the judiciary, including Hon’ble Judges of the Supreme Court of India and the High Court of Madras. The event, known for its innovative and challenging propositions, has grown in prominence since its inception, drawing attention for its transparency and quality.

Team Eligibility and Composition

• Participation is open to bona fide law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. or B.L. degree courses at institutions recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Each registered institution may send only one team.
• Teams may consist of 2 to 3 members, with two designated as Speakers and one as a Researcher.

Registration Procedure

The registration process is two-fold:

1. Provisional Registration: Institutions must send their provisional registration to Probonoenviromcc18@gmail.com.
2. Final Registration: Complete the final registration by filling out the Google Form by 22 September 2024, 11:59 PM IST.

• Registration Fee: ₹2,000 per team. Payment must be made via NEFT to the following account:

Clarifications

Clarifications to the moot proposition can be requested via email by 20 September 2024. Final clarifications will be released on 22 September 2024.

Memorial Submission

Teams must submit their Memorials (both PDF and Microsoft Word formats) for both the Petitioner and Respondent sides by 25 September 2024 via email to probonoenviromcc18@gmail.com.

• Winner: Trophy, certificate, and cash prize of ₹40,000
• Runner-up: Trophy, certificate, and cash prize of ₹30,000
• Best Memorandum: Trophy, certificate, and cash prize of ₹10,000
• Best Researcher: Trophy, certificate, and cash prize of ₹10,000
• Best Speaker: Trophy, certificate, and cash prize of ₹10,000
• Additional awards and certificates for runners-up in various categories.
