The Trans European Policy Studies Association (TEPSA) is Europe’s oldest transnational research network in the field of European affairs. TEPSA aims to stimulate discussion on key European issues and influence European policy-making through academic excellence and collaboration.
About the Event
TEPSA is launching the RECLAIM Student Paper Contest, inviting university students and young researchers to contribute to the pressing global discussion on strengthening liberal democracies in an age dominated by post-truth politics. Participants are encouraged to propose innovative strategies and recommendations aimed at countering misinformation and populism while safeguarding democratic values.

Format/Structure
Participants must submit:
- A paper or policy brief (max 2000 words without spaces).
- Focus: Response to one or more given prompts about liberal democracy resilience, regulation of misinformation, and lessons from countries resisting populism.
- Mandatory: Include a set of actionable policy recommendations for (EU) policymakers.
Eligibility:
- University students (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) above 18 years old.
- Young researchers under 30 years of age.
- Open to all nationalities.

- Format papers according to the latest APA guidelines.

Prizes and Recognition:
- Two winning papers will be published on TEPSA’s website and promoted through TEPSA’s social media channels.
- Winners will receive:
- Free participation at the RECLAIM Final Conference on 27 June 2025.
- Travel and accommodation reimbursement up to €500.
- Presentation opportunity of their policy recommendations to RECLAIM researchers.
