About the University

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, is India’s premier legal education institution, known for pioneering legal research, public policy initiatives, and academic excellence. As a center for interdisciplinary research, NLSIU continuously collaborates on high-impact projects with global institutions and offers unique opportunities for research scholars to work on socially relevant themes.

About the Event

NLSIU is inviting applications for two full-time Research Associate positions for its British Academy-funded collaborative research initiative, Just Transitions on Indian Streets (JusTIS).

This interdisciplinary research project is conducted in partnership with the University of Oxford and seeks to explore just and inclusive responses to climate change in Indian cities, especially through the lens of street-based workers. The project challenges dominant narratives of urban transformation by centering the lived experiences, knowledge, and resistance practices of street vendors, informal transport workers, and gig/platform-based laborers.
