About the University/Organization
The DPIIT IPR Chair at the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Program on Science, Technology & Intellectual Property Law at Columbia Law School, is organizing a high-level roundtable on one of the most pressing legal questions of our time—the intersection of copyright and generative AI.
NLSIU is India’s premier legal education institution, widely regarded for its academic rigor and policy impact. Columbia Law School is globally known for its leadership in law and technology scholarship. Together, they are fostering a platform for scholarly and policy dialogue on evolving intellectual property challenges.
About the Event
The Roundtable on Copyright and Generative AI Training is a one-day closed-door academic and policy roundtable aimed at exploring the complex relationship between copyright law and the training of generative AI models on creative works.
The event will begin with a keynote address by Hon’ble Justice Prathiba M. Singh of the Delhi High Court. This session is open to the public and will set the tone for the discussions to follow.
The roundtable itself will be conducted under Chatham House Rules, facilitating candid discussion between top-tier stakeholders including legal scholars, judges, technologists, industry representatives, and government advisors.
