The Legal Business Services (LBS) division assists multinational organizations in navigating the complex legal landscape, especially in contracting, negotiations, and corporate regulatory matters. The team provides services such as business-as-usual contracting, regulatory response, and legal process improvements. At Deloitte, LBS operates across the entire engagement lifecycle, ensuring high-quality legal business support to clients. The Tax Senior role within LBS is designed to cater to large and complex client organizations, offering expertise in contract management, regulatory events, and business engagements.

About the Role

As a Tax Senior within Deloitte’s Legal Business Services (LBS) function, you will be supporting large, multinational organizations in managing their corporate business legal services. This includes assisting supervising counsel with contracting, negotiations, statutory filings, records management, and more. You will work closely with Senior Managers and Managers on LBS projects to ensure efficient delivery of services and continuous improvements in legal processes through technology.

In this position, your focus will be on handling commercial contracts, coordinating workflows, managing client engagements, and identifying operational efficiencies. The ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple responsibilities will be essential to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting & Negotiating Commercial Contracts: Assisting with the preparation, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts, such as Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Statements of Work (SoWs), and Work Orders.
• Engagement Management: Supporting the entire engagement lifecycle, from opportunity pursuit through service delivery, and identifying potential expansion opportunities.
• Operational Efficiencies: Identifying process improvements and implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) to streamline client engagements.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication: Coordinating with various teams, including finance, legal, and business departments, and incorporating their feedback to facilitate contract closures.
• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Utilizing legal technology and tools for contract management, statutory filings, and records organization.
• Regulatory Support: Providing legal remediation services in response to corporate triggering events or regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Legal Education: LL.B/BA.LLB or equivalent legal training.
• Experience: 5-8 years of relevant legal experience or experience in the alternative legal services industry.
• Contract Management Skills: Strong understanding of in-house contracting processes, including familiarity with various CLM tools.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PPT) and legal technology platforms.
• Commercial Contract Experience: Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements like MSAs, NDAs, SoWs, and distribution agreements.
• Project Management: Preferred qualifications include certifications such as Lean Six Sigma or Project Management Professional.
