NLSIU invites applications from qualified individuals to offer elective courses during the second trimester of the Academic Year 2025–26. The trimester runs from November 3, 2025 to January 23, 2026, with each elective requiring classroom instruction and office hours.

Format and Structure

The elective course must include:

- Advertisement -
  • 40 hours of classroom engagement over 10 weeks
  • 2 office hours per week for consultations
  • Conducted in-person at NLSIU, Bengaluru

Course formats may include:

  • Taught Courses (lecture/discussion + exam)
  • Research Courses (literature review + term paper)
  • Practice/Clinical Courses (field work, drafting, or simulations)

Classes are scheduled on weekdays between 9 AM and 7 PM, with most electives typically held from 2 PM to 7 PM.

Additional Highlights

  • Travel & Accommodation: One-time economy-class return airfare (domestic only) and initial 10 days of accommodation from the start of the trimester will be arranged.
  • Academic Associate support may be provided upon request.
  • Course will be finalized only upon Academic Review Committee (ARC) approval and minimum student registration.

Eligibility

  • Graduate and Postgraduate degree in Law or Social Sciences
  • At least 3 years of post-qualification academic experience or 7–10 years of legal practice
  • Preference will be given to candidates with published research in their area of expertise

Mentors/Judges

Courses will be peer-reviewed and monitored by the Academic Review Committee (ARC) at NLSIU.
