The Department of Studies in Law, University of Mysore, India, in collaboration with the Kalu Institute, Madrid, Spain, the School of Law, University of Nairobi, Kenya, and Mount Kenya University, Kenya, is organizing this international academic initiative.
The University of Mysore, founded in 1916, is one of India’s premier institutions of higher education with a distinguished legacy of academic excellence and social engagement. In partnership with globally reputed institutions, this conference reflects a commitment to addressing pressing global issues through scholarship, research, and policy dialogue.
These institutions have a track record of producing thought leaders in law, economics, social sciences, and policy-making. By bringing together international academia, practitioners, and NGOs, the conference aims to inspire innovative solutions to some of the world’s most urgent challenges.
About the Event
The Two-Day International Conference on the Role of Educational Institutions as Catalysts Addressing Poverty and Mitigating Conflict in Fragile States is scheduled for 26–27 September 2025.
This event is designed to explore the critical role of education in fostering peace, economic empowerment, and sustainable development in fragile and conflict-affected states. It will provide a platform for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to exchange knowledge, present research, and propose innovative strategies.
The themes include:
- Transformative education as a catalyst for economic empowerment.
- Equity, access, and inclusion in fragile education systems.
- TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) for sustainable livelihoods.
- Post-conflict reconstruction of education infrastructure.
- Digital learning technologies in crisis contexts.
- The role of higher education in governance reform and peacebuilding.
Selected papers will be published in an Open Access Edited Volume (Spain, Europe), providing participants an opportunity to contribute to international scholarship.

Format and Structure
The conference will include:
- Speaker Presentations: Selected from submitted abstracts (600 words).
- Paper Presentations: Based on accepted manuscripts (4,500–5,000 words, OSCOLA citation).
- Interactive Sessions: Covering peacebuilding, education reforms, and governance.
- Assessment: Participants will complete a post-conference examination. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of participation.
Evaluation will be based on originality, thematic relevance, clarity, and contribution to the objectives of the conference.
