UNICEF Youth Advocates Programme 2024 [18-24 years; 42 Advocates]: Apply by April 22

Invitation for Applications: UNICEF Youth Advocates Programme 2024

Application Deadline: April 22, 2024

About UNICEF:

Established in 1946 in response to the aftermath of World War II, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has been dedicated to aiding children and young people worldwide, regardless of their country's involvement in conflicts. UNICEF operates in over 190 countries and territories, focusing on ensuring every child's right to survival, development, and a safe future.

About the Programme:

UNICEF, in collaboration with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV), introduces the Youth Advocates programme. This initiative aims to empower young individuals, including those with disabilities, to become catalysts for change and advocates for children's rights. Building upon the success of the inaugural programme in 2018 – 2019, which engaged 42 Youth Advocates across 27 countries, UNICEF and UNV are seeking 20 passionate and skilled advocates to join the second cohort.

The Youth Advocates Programme provides an opportunity for young people to gain one-year professional experience through a National UN Volunteer (UNV) assignment with UNICEF. Additionally, participants will contribute valuable insights to UNICEF's efforts in supporting children and young people.

Selected Youth Advocates will benefit from access to learning and professional development opportunities, includding a range of online learning programmes.

Eligibility Criteria:

– Young professionals aged between 18 to 35 who are committed to advancing children’s rights.

– Individuals with disabilities and those from under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
