About MNLU Mumbai

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, was established in 2014 under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014. Since its inception, MNLU has been committed to providing advanced legal education and fostering research in legal studies to uplift societal well-being. Located in Mumbai, one of India’s largest cities, the university plays a vital role in shaping future legal minds who are trained to address contemporary legal challenges.

MNLU’s mission revolves around the university motto, “Dharme Tatparta,” which signifies a strong commitment to social justice and legal education with an emphasis on advocacy, legal services, and reforms. The university offers diverse programs, including a five-year integrated B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) program, a one-year LL.M. program with specializations, an M.A. in Mediation and Conflict Resolution, an M.B.A., and various Ph.D. programs.


About Pro Bono Club

The Pro Bono Club at MNLU Mumbai operates in collaboration with the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Program of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice. It is a student-run initiative dedicated to promoting access to legal services and fostering social responsibility through various activities.

The club has undertaken several impactful projects, including the Living Wills Project and the Palghar Report, while also conducting legal awareness campaigns in schools and slum areas. The Pro Bono Club aims to create awareness and address issues around individual rights, societal challenges, and legal assistance, particularly focusing on underserved communities.


About the Virtual Summit

The 2nd Edition of the Virtual Summit on Gender, Data, Technology & Health is organized by the Pro Bono Club at MNLU Mumbai in collaboration with the Centre for Applied Research in Public Health Law, Rights, and Policy (CPHL). The summit will cover crucial themes around gender equity in the digital era, privacy in AI, technological advancements in healthcare, and the broader impact of AI in sectors like Fintech.

This flagship event, scheduled for October 12th and 13th, 2024, seeks to create a platform for academicians, researchers, legal professionals, and students to discuss and explore pressing issues at the intersection of gender, technology, and health.

Submission Guidelines for Abstracts and Papers

The Pro Bono Club invites researchers, students, academicians, and professionals from across the globe to submit their abstracts for the summit. Selected abstracts will be presented at the summit, and papers will be published in relevant journals or proceedings.

  • Abstract Length: Up to 300 words
  • Submission Deadline for Abstracts: October 5th, 2024
  • Last Date for Registration: October 10th, 2024
  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: October 10th, 2024

Presentation Guidelines:

  • Each presenter will have 10 minutes for their presentation.
  • Presentations should include the topic, research questions, methodology, utility, and the tentative findings or suggestions.
