About the Organization

The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) is committed to ensuring “Access to Justice for All” under its motto Sewa, Samadhan, Samarpan. DSLSA operates at the grassroots level, promoting legal awareness, offering free legal aid, and coordinating government welfare schemes to empower marginalized communities.

About the Internship

This unique program provides first-hand exposure to the Free Legal Aid System and the operational framework of DSLSA. Interns will engage with stakeholders to understand and address legal challenges faced by society’s underserved sections. Activities include visits to courts, tribunals, child care institutions, and outreach initiatives such as door-to-door campaigns and legal aid clinics.

• Eligibility:
  Law students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year degree programs with proficiency in:
  • Legal writing
  • Communication
  • Basic computer operations (Word, Excel, PPT)
• Seats Available: 200
• Internship Period: January 10–30, 2025
• Application Timeline:
  • Apply Online: December 1, 2024, 10:00 AM onwards
  • Deadline: December 15, 2024, 5:00 PM
  • Shortlist Announcement: December 18, 2024
  • Confirmation Deadline: December 20, 2024
• Documents Required:
  • Scanned college/university ID
  • Passport-sized photograph
  • Recommendation letter from the Principal/HOD of Law Department
• Location: Various courts, institutions, and government offices in Delhi
• Certificate: Upon successful completion, interns will receive a certificate, with Excellence Certificates awarded to top-performing participants.

Suggested Visits

Interns may visit:

1. Courts & Tribunals: District Courts, Family Courts, Consumer Forums, and more.
2. Child Care Institutions: Juvenile Justice Boards, Observation Homes, and Child Welfare Committees.
3. Jails & Police Stations: Tihar or Rohini Jails and police stations.
4. Outreach Activities: Legal aid clinics and door-to-door campaigns.
5. Other Institutions: Shelter homes, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, etc.
