About the Organizers
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), is hosting the 1st NLS-NHRC National Moot Court Competition 2024-25. NLSIU, one of India’s top law schools, is renowned for its excellence in legal education and advocacy, and this competition, organized by the NHRC Chair at NLSIU, is a step towards fostering legal awareness on human rights issues.
The NHRC, established under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993, is a statutory body that safeguards and promotes human rights across India. The NHRC Chair at NLSIU, created in 1998, works towards enhancing human rights literacy through research, advocacy, and events like this moot court competition.
