The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, is one of India’s premier law institutions, known for its excellence in legal education and multidisciplinary research. Established in 1997 by an Act of the Madhya Pradesh Legislature, NLIU has played a crucial role in shaping modern legal education in India. The university provides a platform for students to engage with both theoretical and practical aspects of law, promoting a dynamic learning environment. NLIU is renowned for producing well-rounded legal professionals equipped with critical thinking, practical skills, and a global perspective. The Centre for Research in International Law (CRIL) at NLIU is a student-run initiative that aims to promote awareness, research, and discussions on various aspects of international law. CRIL conducts seminars, workshops, and conferences focusing on current international legal issues, fostering intellectual exchange between students, academics, and professionals. The Centre’s most significant contribution to the academic field is its NLIU-CRIL Journal of International Law and Policy, which has earned respect for being a platform that publishes high-quality scholarly work on a variety of international law topics. CRIL strives to create an ecosystem that encourages critical legal thinking and meaningful discourse in international law.
The NLIU-CRIL Journal of International Law and Policy is a peer-reviewed, student-led academic journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and debate in international law. Now in its fourth edition, the journal seeks to provide a platform for legal scholars, professionals, and students to contribute original and thought-provoking articles. This edition invites submissions that explore contemporary and foundational issues in international law across various domains, including but not limited to international criminal law, trade law, and human rights law.
This year’s journal focuses on several thematic areas, offering an opportunity for contributors to engage with critical and evolving topics within international law. By bringing together diverse viewpoints and rigorous research, the journal seeks to foster a deeper understanding of global legal challenges.

The NLIU-CRIL Journal of International Law and Policy follows an online mode for both submission and publication. Participants from any location can submit their work without needing to attend any physical event.
