Event Overview:

Chandigarh Law College (CLC), in association with Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri, Mohali, is thrilled to announce the Second National Moot Court Competition scheduled for 8th-9th November 2024. This event builds upon the success of its first edition and promises to provide an exciting platform for law students to showcase their research, oratory, and argumentative skills in front of esteemed judges.

The competition offers participants the opportunity to engage in a challenging legal problem that tests their knowledge of constitutional, criminal, and procedural law, making it a valuable experience for any aspiring legal professional.

Theme of the Moot Problem:

This year’s moot problem focuses on contemporary legal issues of national significance. The problem has been carefully designed by legal experts to challenge participants to interpret legislation, balance legal precedents, and employ intricate judicial reasoning. Competitors will need to analyze constitutional law, criminal law, and procedural law in a hypothetical case scenario.

The competition is structured into three rounds:

  • Preliminary Rounds: Each participating team will present arguments in two rounds—once as petitioners and once as respondents.
  • Quarterfinals and Semifinals: The top-scoring teams from the preliminary rounds will advance to the next stages, arguing more nuanced aspects of the case.
  • Final Round: The two best teams will face off in the final, which will be judged by a distinguished panel of sitting judges and senior advocates.
