About the Internship

Position: Legal Intern – Trademark & Copyright Law
Duration: November & December 2024
Timings: 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM (Monday to Saturday)
Location: Remote
Stipend: ₹4,000 per month + ₹3,000 performance-based incentive

This internship is ideal for candidates eager to specialize in intellectual property law. As a Legal Intern at Datence, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in essential IP processes, including trademark and copyright filings, legal research, and contract drafting. You will work closely with senior attorneys, building real-world skills in a high-impact role designed to provide a strong foundation in IP law.

Key Responsibilities

• Trademark & Copyright Filing: Assist with drafting and filing applications, managing registration processes, and ensuring accurate documentation for trademark and copyright filings.
• Legal Research & Documentation: Conduct comprehensive research on IP law trends, case laws, and precedents relevant to client projects. Summarize findings and prepare reports that provide actionable insights.
• Case Management: Support case management by organizing case files, tracking important deadlines, and maintaining organized case records.
• Contract Drafting: Draft standard IP contracts and legal documents under the guidance of senior legal professionals, with a focus on compliance and client needs.
• Client Interaction & Communication: Engage professionally with clients as needed to discuss case progress and updates, building strong client communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Background: Current law students or recent graduates with coursework in IP law, or those with previous internship experience in trademark and copyright law, are encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Prior experience in filing trademarks and copyrights (with either a law firm or an individual practitioner) is preferred. A foundational understanding of the startup ecosystem is also advantageous.
• Skills:
