Themes for the Essay: Participants can choose from the following broad themes, which are designed to inspire nuanced and thoughtful discussions:

  2. Labour, Corporate Law, and Gender
  3. Gender Equality, Media & Artificial Intelligence
  4. Judiciary, Litigation, Political Institutions, and Gender Justice

While these themes are indicative, participants are free to explore and contribute essays beyond the given topics, as long as they are relevant to gender and law.

Eligibility

The competition is open to:

  • Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students
  • Academicians, scholars, and researchers
  • Legal practitioners, consultants, and policymakers from across the world.

Prizes and Awards

  1. Winner: A cash prize of INR 10,000, publication of the manuscript in the book of the 4th NLIU National Conference on Gender and Law 2024, and a certificate of merit.
  2. First Runner-Up: A cash prize of INR 5,000, publication, and a certificate of merit.
  3. Second Runner-Up: Publication and a certificate of merit.
  4. Next Top 10 Essays: Certificates of merit.
  5. All Participants: A certificate of participation will be awarded to all contributors.

Submission and Registration Guidelines

  • Submissions must be made in .doc or .docx format only.
  • The essays should be between 3,000 to 6,500 words, excluding footnotes and abstract.
  • An abstract of 200-250 words must be included at the top of the essay.
  • All manuscripts must be original, with a plagiarism limit of no more than 7%.
  • Registration Fees:
    • Single Authorship: INR 400
    • Co-Authorship: INR 600
