About the Role

Airtel’s Public Policy & Regulatory Strategy team is currently seeking a Senior Manager to contribute to shaping its regulatory and public policy framework. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders, government bodies, industry players, and Airtel’s internal teams to interpret legislative changes, develop policy initiatives, and contribute to the company’s strategic goals. The team is crucial in driving Airtel’s compliance with evolving regulations in the digital, data privacy, financial, and entertainment sectors, making this role a critical intersection between policy-making and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Manager in the Public Policy & Regulatory Strategy Team, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Regulatory Strategies: Assist in formulating positions on various regulations affecting the company, particularly around digital space, data privacy, financial services, and digital entertainment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government bodies, regulators, trade associations, and think tanks to align Airtel’s business objectives with public policy.
  • Legislative Tracking and Interpretation: Monitor and analyze legislative developments impacting Airtel’s operations. Provide strategic insights and actionable advice to internal teams on potential policy changes.
  • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work with legal, compliance, marketing, and communication teams to ensure policy initiatives are integrated with business objectives. You will also help business teams identify new opportunities driven by regulatory changes.
  • Cross-functional Projects: Drive multi-disciplinary projects and policy-related business strategies that align with Airtel’s long-term goals.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A Master’s degree in law, public policy, economics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in government, think tanks, public interest groups, or the field of corporate public policy.
  • Experience with regulatory frameworks, particularly those relating to technology, data privacy, and digital business laws.
  • Strong research, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced, cross-functional environments and work independently on complex projects.
