About the Internship
The Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan is offering full-time, in-person internships for law students from January 2025 to May 2025. This internship presents an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the judiciary by directly assisting the judge with case research, brief preparation, and attending court proceedings. Interns will be expected to conduct in-depth legal research, prepare case summaries, and participate in high-profile cases that could shape the legal landscape.
Interns will also be part of the judicial process, helping draft legal opinions, attending court sessions, and observing the legal decision-making process in real-time.

- Undergraduate Law Students: 2nd year or above in a 3-year program, 3rd year or above in a 5-year program.
- Postgraduate Law Students: Open to all postgraduate law students.

- Application Deadline: Applications must ideally be submitted 5 weeks prior to the start of the intended internship month. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Internship Responsibilities
Interns will be engaged in the following (non-exhaustive) responsibilities:
- Case Briefs: Prepare summaries of case facts, legal arguments, and case law.
- Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research on legal issues and draft memos, legal opinions, and reports.
- Court Proceedings: Attend court hearings, take detailed minutes, and observe the judicial decision-making process.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks and responsibilities.
Selection Process
- Interviews: Applicants will be interviewed either telephonically or virtually.
- Confirmation: Successful applicants will be confirmed 2-4 weeks prior to the internship start date.
Orientation
At the beginning of the internship, interns will participate in an orientation session covering essential procedures, tools, and policies. They will be provided with necessary templates and protocols to ensure they are fully prepared for their responsibilities.
Location
Interns will be based in New Delhi, working directly with the Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan at the Supreme Court of India.
