The School of Law at Bennett University is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and advocacy, offering programs like B.A.LL.B., B.B.A.LL.B., LL.M., and Ph.D. The Moot Court Committee, a prestigious part of the law school, organizes national and international moot competitions to enhance students’ practical skills in legal research, advocacy, and oral arguments.
About the Competition
The II Bennett International Moot Court Competition (BIMCC) 2025 focuses on Competition Law, addressing critical issues of market dominance, consumer protection, and anti-competitive practices. This competition provides a platform for law students globally to deepen their understanding of Competition Law, especially in the Indian context. Participants will engage in drafting, researching, and arguing a hypothetical case related to competition issues, offering insights into both national and international aspects of this dynamic legal field.
Key Dates and Deadlines
- Release of Moot Proposition: September 15, 2024
- Registration Deadline: November 25, 2024
- Clarification Deadline: December 15, 2024
- Memorial Submission Deadline: January 5, 2025
- Competition Dates: February 7-9, 2025
Competition Structure and Requirements
The BIMCC 2025 will include:
- Memorial Submissions: Teams must prepare written submissions for both the applicant and respondent sides.
- Oral Rounds: The competition features preliminary, quarter-final, semi-final, and final rounds. The oral rounds will test participants on factual knowledge, legal interpretation, research application, and argumentative clarity.
Formatting Guidelines:
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12 for main text, size 10 for footnotes.
- Spacing: 1.5-line spacing for body text; single spacing for footnotes.
- Content Structure: Memorials should include a cover page, table of contents, statement of jurisdiction, statement of facts, issues, arguments, and a prayer.
Prizes and Awards
- Winning Team: INR 75,000 + Trophy
- Runners-Up: INR 50,000 + Trophy
- Best Memorial (Prosecution & Defence): INR 5,000 each + Trophy
- Best Speaker & Best Researcher (Male & Female): INR 5,000 each + Trophy
All participants will receive certificates of participation.
Location and Venue
The competition will take place at Bennett University, Greater Noida, NCR, a modern campus designed to foster an academic and professional learning environment.
Registration
- Registration Fees: INR 7,500 for Indian teams; USD 100 for international teams, including accommodation and meals from February 7-9, 2025.
