About the Job Opportunity

Altacit Global is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its team in Chennai. The role is ideal for legal professionals with expertise in intellectual property, corporate transactions, and commercial contracts. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for advising clients, managing complex legal cases, drafting critical agreements, and mentoring junior associates.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advisory Services:
   • Provide legal advice and support to clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and efficient legal operations.
   • Conduct due diligence investigations and gather necessary information for client projects.
2. Drafting and Documentation:
   • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to mergers, acquisitions, business transfers, and other transactions.
   • Prepare commercial agreements, including distribution agreements, technology licensing agreements, non-disclosure agreements, escrow agreements, power of attorney, and more.
3. Litigation and Case Management:
   • Lead and manage complex legal cases, including representing clients in court.
   • Mentor and guide junior legal associates, providing oversight and expertise.
4. Research and Analysis:
   • Conduct extensive legal research to support case preparation and offer guidance on legal matters.
   • Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) with registration at the Bar Council.
• Experience: 3–4 years of proven experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) registration, contract law, and corporate legal practices.
• Skills:
  • Strong expertise in drafting contracts, legal research, and document preparation.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to legal work.
