About the Internship Program:
Kings & Alliance LLP is inviting applications from 4th and 5th-year law students currently enrolled in a 5-year integrated law program for a 6-week in-person internship at its Delhi office. This internship is designed to provide interns with an immersive experience in the workings of corporate law, arbitration, and litigation, offering hands-on exposure to real-world cases and legal processes. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the firm’s legal experts, assisting in a variety of tasks that will hone their skills in research, drafting, client interactions, and case management.
Internship Period: 6 weeks
Location: Delhi (In-person)
Key Responsibilities:
Interns at Kings & Alliance LLP will engage in various essential tasks, gaining practical skills in a professional environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Legal Research:
- Conduct thorough legal research on corporate, arbitration, and litigation matters to support ongoing cases and projects.
- Analyze statutes, case laws, and legal precedents relevant to corporate disputes, regulatory compliance, and commercial arbitration.
- Prepare comprehensive research memos and summaries to aid attorneys in case preparation.
- Drafting and Documentation:
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including contracts, agreements, petitions, affidavits, and other court documents, under the supervision of experienced attorneys.
- Review and refine legal drafts to ensure clarity, conciseness, and compliance with applicable legal standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of legal opinions and client advisories by synthesizing research findings and aligning them with client needs.
- Case Analysis and Brief Preparation:
- Help analyze case files, preparing briefs and case summaries that outline relevant legal arguments and evidence.
- Support the preparation of case strategies for litigation and arbitration proceedings, including fact-gathering and issue-spotting.
- Collaborate in preparing case notes for court hearings, aiding attorneys in developing coherent arguments.
- Client Interaction Support:
- Assist in organizing and conducting client meetings, taking notes, and preparing follow-up summaries.
- Develop skills in client communication by observing client interactions and participating in discussions on case progress and legal strategy.
- Ensure professional and effective communication with clients to address preliminary inquiries, support case updates, and assist with document management.
- Court Visits and Litigation Exposure:
- Accompany senior lawyers to court, observing proceedings in both trial and appellate courts to understand the litigation process.
- Gain insights into courtroom etiquette, witness examination, and procedural aspects of litigation.
- Contribute to the logistical aspects of court appearances by organizing documents and assisting attorneys in preparation.
- Arbitration and Dispute Resolution:
- Participate in arbitration proceedings, supporting the team in preparing documents and evidence required for hearings.
- Learn about alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and the nuances of handling commercial disputes through arbitration.
- Observe arbitrators’ deliberations, decisions, and the procedural dynamics that guide arbitration.
Eligibility Criteria:
The internship program is open to:
- 4th and 5th-year law students enrolled in a recognized 5-year integrated law program.
- Candidates with a demonstrated interest in corporate law, arbitration, litigation, and commercial dispute resolution.
Skills Required:
- Research and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in legal research and the ability to analyze legal principles, precedents, and statutory provisions.
